Who I am
My name is Walter Alexander Perez, and I’m a 17-year-old artist who found peace and inspiration in the unlikeliest place—a recycling bin. It was there that I first discovered the joy of art, by transforming discarded materials into something meaningful. From that moment art has became my way of connecting with the world.
Though I’ve explored many forms of art, hand-drawing is my favorite. There’s something about the direct connection between my hand, the pencil, and the page that feels natural to me. But my creativity doesn’t stop there. I also work with sculpting, watercolor and oil painting, printmaking, and photography. Each medium challenges me to see the world differently and allows me to express myself in new and exciting ways.
Art has always been with me—it’s my constant companion and my way of making sense of the world. It’s also shaped my dreams for the future. I want to become an architect, combining my love for art and working with my hands to design spaces that matter. I dream of creating buildings that are not just functional but also conscious of the environment, celebrate diversity, and help solve societal problems.
For me, art isn’t just about creating, it’s about making an impact. And I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.
